Back again.

Tue Feb 5, 2008, 1:16 PM
So I vanished for a while, but that's because I've been doing some larger projects, and haven't wanted to post incomplete work.

DA, today marks the posting of my largest file to date, roughly 60 pages of musical theatre. I wrote the show - with help - some time ago, but I've been revising and revising. This is the work as it stands right now, but significant revisions are certainly on the way. I would love some commentary from anyone steadfast enough to finish the whole thing. I intend to pursue production on the mainstage at my university, which the head of our theatre department has shown significant interest in. This would be a huge step for me, so please: if you have nothing constructive to say, step off.

Much love.

When Can I Get Some Sleep?

Sat Nov 17, 2007, 12:55 AM
Senior year in college. Add to that the album I am recording as per my production contract, my weekday work wherever I can scrounge it, my weekend work singing and playing guitar for one of the busiest cover bands ever, my inability to sleep at night, and my tendency to use spare time to find more things to do ... I'm so tired that I'm afraid I may simply fall apart.

When can I get some sleep?
I guess I'll work it out. I guess I'll work for now
And hope this body of mine holds out.
You'd better call someone.
I think I'm breaking down into component parts
Strong limbs and a steady heart.

Above: lyrics to one the songs that will grace my debut album. Reason for posting: they define my current state of being.

Someone say something nice to me. Or at least give me reason to believe I can get through this in one relatively sane piece.

  • Mood: Sympathy
  • Listening to: Van Morrison, "Domino"
  • Reading: George R. R. Martin, "A Clash of Kings"
  • Watching: The Truman Show

Band practice in just a little bit. Damn bassist never called me back. Dunno wtf that's about. But w/e. I really want to get to work on my music project and start moving forward. I have a huge gig in 20 days, and I don't feel ready for it yet, which worries me.

Also, I have no time left for writing, with all this school.

I hate inconveniences like this.

Anyone wanna lobby for them to add more hours to the day, or more days to the week, or more years to the life?
